Stanley Cup Finals Schedule

You might have seen/heard controversey surrounding the start of the Stanley Cup Finals and if the NHL would be able to have the series end by June 15th (deadline for last day of competition).

Detroit Red Wings vs. Pittsburgh Penguins

Series starts Saturday @ 8 p.m.

Well, Detroit wrapped up its series last night, beating Chicago in overtime.  Thus, Gary Bettman need not worry.

Pittsburgh and Detroit will drop the puck Saturday night at 8 p.m. in the first of back-o-back games to open the finals.  The rest of the schedule is as follows…

Game 1: Saturday 5/30 @ 8 p.m. in Detroit
Game 2: Sunday 5/31 @ TBD in Detroit
Game 3: Tuesday 6/2 @ 8 p.m. in Pittsburgh
Game 4: Thursday 6/4 @ 8 p.m. in Pittsburgh
Game 5: Saturday 6/6 @ 8 p.m. in Detroit*
Game 6: Tuesday 6/9 @ 8 p.m. in Pittsburgh*
Game 7: Friday 6/12 @ 8 p.m. in Detroit*
*if necessary, like always

We’ll update this as soon as the times get announced for games 2-7.  In the meantime, visit the rail on the right and vote on how you think the Pens will do against the Red Wings.

I’ve got the Pens in six, but that’s what I’ve had for every series thus far.  What do you predict?

Pens in 5 or Detroit in 7…
The Pens Don’t wanna get into a tight series with veterans!

Oh and whats up with them playing back to back to begin the series!?!

It’s unheard of to play back-to-back games in the Finals, not to mention to open the series. I think it’s going to give one team a really unfair advantage…most likely the Wings since they are at home.

And I don’t think you’re giving the Pens enough credit for being the veterans that they are!
