Shut up and win

There’s nothing that I can write here that’s going to be enlightening.  We all know what tonight means.

Red Wings lead series 2-0

A win and the Pens have an unbridled newfound sense of life and the confidence of knowing the game they want to play is good enough.  A loss and there’s only one way to win … fate.

Tonight’s the biggest night of our lives.  There’s no doubt about it.

Food, water, shelter … all a distant second to a win tonight.  You can bet the refs are going to have their whistles ready.  The 17,132 inside Mellon Arena will let them hear it every time something goes uncalled.

It’s not officiating.  It’s the Pens playing their game and getting a little luck along the way.

When Malkin scored off of one of Detroit’s own players, it looked as if things were going out way.  Things changed quickly.

Call it unlucky.  Call it snake-bitten.  Call it whatever you want.  The Pens firmly believe that they are outplaying the Wings and that it’s only a matter of time until the bounces start going their way.

If it doesn’t happen tonight, on home ice, then it never will.

There’s nothing left to say.  At least I’ve got nothing.  Because of that, I’m leaving you with some of my favorite inspirational movie moments.

Maybe the Pens will have an EPIC third-period comeback, such as the Ducks …

… However, if they come out in the baby blue uniforms I’ll kill myself.

This next one isn’t so inspirational.  However, it’s what Big Hall Gill should say to the referees if things continue …

In the heat of the moment …
